Kitchenette

The house was obviously abandoned for I think about 3 years, before we snagged it. :) This is what the previous homeowners used as a kitchen. We, however, will be converting this space into a second bath and laundry room/office...after we completely rip it out and start over. That will be Phase 2 though. Yes, we're crazy.

Living Room

Here's a an old shot of the living room from the far end of the kitchen. That stack of blocks is the skeleton of the fireplace. Actually, we are going to install a wood burning stove instead...one day.

I love this picture of Jeremy's dad inside the house during the demolition phase. It literally looks like a house that is partially burned down. That probably would have been a good idea actually, considering that we have redone almost everything.

The Front Door

I thought I would start adding some old pictures to show the progression of our work a little better. The top pic is what the living room looked like when we first started. Then...we ripped everything out. :) We were hoping to keep the hardwood floor, but found out we needed to replace the foundation and joists underneath, so, it's gone. Jeremy had to redo all of the interior wall studs and did that by jacking up the roof a little. That was a fun day, I just knew that the house would come crashing down. But it didn't. We also rebuilt the wall to the right (leading to the bedroom) and added some closets.
